2022 Jeep Wrangler Review

Taking the road less travelled and ascending the challenging terrain of adventure are only two of the many things you can accomplish behind the wheel of a new 2022 Jeep Wrangler. At LaFontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) of Saline, we’ve written a thorough review of the 2022 Wrangler to give our friends and neighbors in Saline, Ypsilanti, and Ann Arbor, MI, a better idea of what to expect when buying one.

2022 Jeep Wrangler: Power & Performance

The 2022 Wrangler comes equipped with an impressive 3.6L Pentastar® V6 24V VVT engine with Engine Start/Stop technology built in. This setup is further advanced by a 6-speed manual transmission. All told, the power outputs are equally impressive, clocking in at 286 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque, and a 3,500-pound maximum towing capacity when properly equipped.

The 2022 Wrangler has three additional available engines:

  • 2.0L I4 DOHC DI Turbo Engine with Start/Stop
  • 3.0L V6 Turbo EcoDiesel Engine with Start/Stop
  • 3.6L Pentastar® V6 24 VVT Engine with eTorque

Paired with those available engines are additional transmissions:

  • 8-speed automatic 8HP75 transmission
  • 8-speed automatic 850RE transmission

You can expect to find a wide range of power spread across these different powertrains. Each one is designed to address specific interests, as the standard is concerned with fuel efficiency by the inclusion of ESS tech. Another example is the 3.0L EcoDiesel engine, which has the highest amount of torque, 443 lb-ft, resulting in a great performance but also helpful in towing.

2022 Jeep Wrangler: Safety

You’ll feel protected by the available assistive features in the 2022 Wrangler. From the Forward Collision Warning to the Automatic High-Beam Headlamps, you can trust the Wrangler to have your back in any critical moment. Looking closer at the first example, this feature works through sensors noticing you may incur a front impact and sending an alert or automatically engaging the brakes, if you fail to take corrective measures.

A feature sometimes overlooked is the available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System. This helps to make parking a safer endeavor than what you’re used to. Using powerful sensors, the system will emit an alert if you get too close to an object or obstacle when backing up. At home, in city circumstances, or out on the rough roads of adventure, this system can reduce the risk of a rear collision in many situations.

2022 Jeep Wrangler: Connectivity

The 2022 Wrangler is designed to keep you wired and well connected through the usage of the available Uconnect® 4C NAV system, with an 8.4-inch touchscreen. You can use this display as a connective hub, addressing connected smartphones or pulling up the map for navigation features. The smartphone integration allows for the use of Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

You’ll be able to utilize voice commands through the paired Bluetooth® wireless technology. This wireless capability also works when the Wrangler is transformed into an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot. When the hotspot is activated, up to eight devices can connect simultaneously. Once you’re parked, they remain connected for up to 50 feet away from the Wrangler.
